This six-module program is designed to equip you with the essential knowledge and foundational skills required to assess suitability of patients for laser refractive eye surgery. You will learn the epidemiology of refractive error, how to assess for indications and contraindications for laser refractive surgery and how to perform corneal and other imaging assessments.

    3. Laser suitability assessment 2 (including consent)
    4. Dry eye assessment and management
    5. Corneal imaging
    6. Corneal imaging and adjunctive imaging

    Learning outcomes

    • -Have an understanding of the epidemiology and international health and visual impact of refractive error and the role of laser refractive surgery
    • -Assess suitability for laser refractive surgery and understand the metrics and variables involved
    • -Assess the ocular surface and outline appropriate measures that can be undertaken to address issues prior to laser refractive surgery
    • -Interpret corneal topography and other commonly used imaging modalities for the purpose of assessing suitability for laser refractive surgery
