Associate Professor Anthony Joseph is an Emergency Physician and previous Trauma Director at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, Australia. He has been a teacher of medical students and emergency medicine trainees for many years.He is an Affiliate Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney and is the lead coordinator of the postgraduate “Essentials in Clinical Trauma Care” short course at the University. He is a past–President and co-founder of the Australasian Trauma Society. He was an Instructor and Director of Early Management of Severe Trauma (EMST) Courses for 22 years. He was also one of the early advocates and teachers for the use of ultrasound in the early assessment of trauma patients. His research and teaching interests include trauma radiology, mental health issues after trauma and trauma in the elderly.
